I am fascinated by deep ocean, and was reading recently about Black Dragonfish, who are creatures found at the deepest deep — up to 7,000 feet down. Naturally, I wanted to try to draw one!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like many deep-sea creatures, the common black dragonfish has photophores \u2013 organs capable of bioluminescence. This light is mainly used to attract prey, and probably, mates. Their teeth (and fangs!) are translucent, while their skin is coloured one of the darkest blacks. Anyway… this is my take on one of them… For some reason, I imagine him speaking with a Scottish accent, and off to find a big, fat, lady Black Dragonfish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
